1oz Australian Kookaburra - foreigners heard of them?

I am getting a good deal on 1oz silver kookaburras. (working to 3c under spot per coin, up to 20)
I know everyone has heard of Australian Gold Nugger/Kangaroo series.

Just wondering if these coins are worth scooping up. I do not want something just for the silver content, but also something that is widely recognised and respected and tradeable.

Can I have your feedback please.
Thanks

If it says .999 on it, it is recognizable and tradable these days. However, Roo's are considered a premium like eagles, maples and panda's. They are rarer in North America, but recognized.

If it is a deal, and you are in the market, buy em.

oh ****! Buy 10,000 of them!!!! Kooka's are beauties. they routinely trade 40-80%+ over spot on ebay, just because ...well, when you've got one in your palm you'll see,( errm, as the actress said to the bishop.)

Have foreigners heard of them? Just who is a foreigner, are you Australian? If so, I'm foreign (I like the sound of that, sounds exotic) and I have definitely heard of Kookaburras and have a number, along with a bunch of other products of the superb Perth Mint.

I bought a gold Lunar 2002 Horse recently, which was a mistake because I now lust for more of the series (including my birth year, rat, go figure). The silver Australian Lunars are as nice as it's possible for a silver coin to be, passing many of the Pandas in my opinon.

Well..

They were the first bulk silver purchases I made at Perth mint..

I bought 10 1 kilo coins

I paid more than spot at the time , but recouped it now

Man ...are they ever beautiful!!
